Knox Grammar Senior Student Academy - Project of the Year & Overall Winner

Southern Cross Masonry Contractors were awarded the masonry works for Knox Grammar Senior School Academy.

The new facility included a Seniors Hall, Student Library, Research Centre, Lecture Theatre and extra Classrooms.

To keep with the historical brickwork of other buildings on site, Southern Cross Masonry had engaged with the Architect, Builder and the Brick Supplier in selecting brick colour, brick types, and layouts for this project.

Circular Bricks were specially made to suit and complete the circular turret, which is a major focal point of this project.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

ADCO engaged Southern Cross Masonry to carry out all sandstone and bricklaying on this project. The extensive corbel detail, finish face brickwork, header courses and mottling of brick patterns proved to be a challenging design item. A dedicated site foreman was appointed to ensure the mottling of bricks and brick patterns were laid consistently throughout the entire project. Southern Cross Masonry and ADCO have delivered outstanding brickwork to the highest quality possible.
